A friend recently introduced me to cheese dip from a company out of Memphis named El Terrifico Tamale Co. Qualitywise it’s on par with the dip served at most of the Mexican restaurants my family frequents, and it’s convenient because you don’t have to make a special trip to a restaurant just for dip when you have a craving.
My favorite is the Mild White Cheese Dip, available at Sam’s Club stores in 32-ounce tubs that cost about $8. They also sell a 16-ounce tub ($4.50) at Kroger, Wal-Mart Supercenters and Neighborhood Markets.
The company also markets a Mild Yellow Cheese Dip and Tamales, which aren’t sold in our local stores. But they are all available on El Terrifico’s website, www.elterrifico.com.
